I have a problem with producers calling themselves DJs.

confettithefirst:

There’s a big difference. Just because you can do one doesn’t mean you can do the other. Live producing isn’t DJing. Don’t think you know how to scratch on a vinyl like me. Don’t think you know songs that will drive a crowd insane like I can. You have to set up all your music ahead of time, thus you kill the art of reading the crowd. You’re NOT a DJ. You’re a producer. It’s a different art. Accept that you aren’t like me. Am I unreasonable in this?

  9. this-phantasm answered: And same goes for famous producers who get labeled as “DJ’S” when all they do is mix their own shit. instead of playing everyone else’s.
